• 3907 Seed Producers, 1136 Chawki Rearers and 20957 Seed Cocoon Producers amounting to a total of 26000 applicants have been registered under the Act.
  • 343 Seed Officers and 135 Seed Analysts were nominated/ appointed for implementing the Act across India.
  • The Seed Officers and Seed Analysts were trained in the implementation attributes.
  • A manual was prepared and published covering all the provisions of the Act to techno-legally empower the Seed Analysts and Seed Officers.
  • The Geographical jurisdiction of the Seed Analysts and Seed Officers were decided and the registered producers of the respective areas linked with the concerned SAs/SOs.
  • Seed areas have been notified demarcating exclusive areas for raising pure race seed cocoons
  • One Central Seed Testing Laboratory (CSTL) and 7 accredited laboratories have been notified and are being established.
  • Large numbers of interactive programmes have been conducted at various parts of the country to create awareness among various stake holders
  • Bilingual booklets on frequently asked questions and answers covering all aspects of the Seed Act were prepared and published in English and vernacular such as Hindi-English, Kannada –English, Tamil-English, Telugu-English and Bengali-English
  • Certificate training course of three months duration is arranged to facilitate registration of new entrepreneurs.
  • All the Registered Seed Producers and Registered Chawki Rearers are being imparted one week refresher training in the respective technologies.
